Faces, big and small

I thought they all looked neat together so I had to take an artsy shot of these faces. The tiny ones were part of a request to simulate the larger face, which is currently in my Etsy shop, on a smaller scale. The big face is 1.75 inches tall, the small faces are 0.5 inch round.
It's funny, I've painted a gazillion faces but somehow I don't always feel I have control over how they turn out.... almost like each has a little personality fighting to show itself.

Maybe I just need a new paintbrush ;-)

Sunday afternoon

Feeling inspired, I've created a handful of new polymer faces and have painted some already..... and I'm getting ready to list them in my Etsy shop.

I usually don't have color schemes picked out for the faces while I'm forming them, I just decide on that right before I paint them.
Sometimes I'll start painting and it doesn't look right so I wash it off and start over. On rare occasions, I may do this 3-4 times on one face. On super-rare occasions, I may throw a face away completely.... which hasn't happened in a while!
